This graphic looks more like a queue at the Ontario College of Art and Design than a retrospective on the evolution of the hipster. Also, the t-shirts are not even nearly tight enough.
The circa 2004 “twee” is a lot like the “indie snob,” which has existed since the mid-nineties alt-rock meltdown. Like goths and cockroaches, the indie snob simply refuses to go away.
Reblog if you remember the trend, 2002-ish, of townie girls in heels and cocktail dresses coming to all-ages hardcore shows, standing in a row and looking completely stunned. Or was this just a Greater Toronto Area thing?
